Exodus Earth: A journey beyond home

Image
A few days ago, I was watching discovery science on Cable and a new program caught my eye. The intro itself was so enthralling that it excited me. I am talking about the show “Exodus Earth”- a show based on the science, technology and vision required by our race to leave Earth along with a journey of “pioneers” exploring planets across our solar system and the distances far beyond. I really praise the efforts put into the narration and creative direction for this show, moreover what it conveys at its core is a dream that is connected to the reality of exploration. Here is a glimpse of what I am talking about. You can watch the episodes online on YouTube as well and a quick Google search revealed something that surprised me. The show aired on Discovery in August 2009 (THAT’S ALMOST A DECADE AGO), a time when ISRO’s Mangalyaan wasn’t on paper and SpaceX launched Falcon 1 for testing. It felt like I was sitting in the future realising that 10 years have gone by (could

All explorers UNITE.

As a computer engineering undergraduate, I have learnt a lot of different things over the past 3 and a half years and one thing that I never expected was to find out the convergence of so many different domains into the final product of a COMPUTER and its studies. They include algorithms, communication, designing, the study of intelligence and lot more. Over the years there has definitely been an exponential growth that has added more and more to whatever has been done, yet I feel that with so many modern systems and devices for disposal my learning lacks adaptiveness. By the term adaptive I want to convey a sense of self-taught exploration beyond my own field. I was one of the most curious pupils in the school who questioned a lot and tried to find answers, however over the course of my studies there has been more structure to my curiosities and I miss the old explorer in me. Through this blog, I want to accustom myself towards different trends in our era and keep posting about wh

Pokemon Go and My childhood

Those who are playing Pokemon Go know what I feel when I say that it reminds me of my childhood. A fantasy that was not a part of any real world happenings but just a way to see the world as an explorer. I was 10 when I saw the 1st gen of this cartoon and yes it inspired me to play the game myself. I waited for the clock to hit 5:30 pm and watch what new pokemon Ash gets and the places he explores. This easily lead to commercialization of the cartoon and one of the most interesting products were the Tazos, they were cheap as they came in Fritoley's chip packs and lead us to hold the cartoons on T.V. in our bare hands. I had been preserving them for 9yrs now and with the buzz of Pokemon Go in the market I believe it's time for me to share them with the world. Also the ones that I didn't lost are the one's that have all evolved forms of a particular pokemon with the info like its Height, Weight, Powers and some interesting stuff
